Joan Gold is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with a Master’s Degree in Counseling Psychology, Transpersonal Specialization, from John F. Kennedy University.
In her role as Director of the Women’s Program at Impulse Treatment Center, Joan specializes in individual and group treatment for partners of sex addicts as well as female sex addicts. She helps women become more present and powerful in their lives while facilitating change for individuals and couples who both long for and fear deep connection. She is a trained EMDR practitioner, a certified Healing Shame Therapist, and a certified Gestalt Therapist.
Joan has led workshops and written a number of articles on psychotherapy and transformation, with an emphasis on female sex and love addicts and trauma. She has written two workbooks: Freedom From Sex Addiction and Freedom From Sex Addiction for Partners, available elsewhere on this website, downloadable and free of charge.
